Free Domain Name and Web Hosting - Trying To Live Free

So once I decided to try to live free and kind of document how I was going to do that, I thought of just starting a blog and just talking about how I was going to live free. I was going to use wordpress or wix or something. But I soon learned that using them would start out to be free, but to do anything extra would cost me and that wasn't going to work.

I was looking up free blogging websites and came across Blogger. It was free to use and had everything I wanted to use. Plus it is part of Google so my email, photos, and docs would all be connected. I could just go with that and use their blogspot web address but I found out that you can use your own domain name and connect it to Blogger. 

The next step was to find out if I could get a free domain name. I could do it but I wouldn't be able to get a .com or anything that I was used to. Instead I found a website, freenom.com. I would have to settle for an extension of .tk, .ml, .ga, .cf or .gq. I went with the first one, .tk, because I didn't think it would matter which I chose. 

I know that may come back to haunt me if someone gets the .com version of my website, but my whole idea of this is to be free so I will just have to deal with it if the time comes. 

I may have to figure out some things if this doesn't work out in the long run but for now I am going to stick with it and continue to try to live free.
