Home Made Toothpaste - Trying To Live Free
As I am going through this journey of trying to live free I am always thinking about ways to save money. Another great idea I found was to make your own toothpaste.
I decided to add peppermint essential oil. I didn't think I would like the taste and I am so used to having minty breath when I am done brushing my teeth.
So here are the ingredients and amounts I used:
- Baking Soda - 1/4 cup
- Coconut Oil - 1/4 cup
- Peppermint Essential Oil - 10 drops
That is it. The one thing I noticed is that it didn't really have a minty taste to it so I just used some mouth wash, which I already had, to give my mouth that minty taste.
It cost about $20 for all of the ingredients and I think it lasts about a month with the jar I have. I still have many more jars to fill so I am hoping it will last for about 6 months. So that is not too bad. Plus you know what is in your toothpaste and don't have to worry what you are putting in your mouth.
